Forgive the somewhat noob questions...

1) Boyf & I are flying to Noumea on 3 May on a QF flight number operated by Aircalin. Boyf is QF SG, so I guess we just roll up to QF J checkin rather than going to the Aircalin counters right?

2) Does T-80 work on codeshares? We were assigned row 8 which was as far forward as available. Picked 8E and 8F. Some dick plonked him/herself in 8D when the rest of the plane still looks empty. On the seatmap, rows forward of 8 don't appear at all and 9, 10, 11 are blank spaces (no seat images, occupied or otherwise, just blank) so I picked row 12 which is an exit row. Just wondering if at T-80 I'll be able to log on and secure something in the first couple of rows instead IF T-80 works on codeshares?? We're both c170cm, so tend to get dirty looks from tall people when occupying exit rows

Does Qantas handle checkin for Aircalin? If not then you will need to checkin with Aircalin.

Also as it is an Aircalin flight I do not believe the Qantas seat allocation rules apply.

In spite of the fact the itinerary says QF361? Codeshares have always been a mystery to me!!!!!

I understand the frustration but in theory you wouldn't have 2 airlines checking in people for the same flight at the departure airport.

Codeshares are just there to make connections a little simpler and expand the market where a seat on an aircraft is sold. If Qantas were not selling seats on behalf of Aircalin then those flights may not have the expected loads and in the end both airlines make a profit out of Qantas selling the seat.
