One of the "noted" Australian online travel agencies is (again) offering an economy (6 month) mini-RTW as one leg to Europe via Asia - the other back via USA at quite attractive (exPER AU$2500-2700 tax inclusive)

Is this a generally available fare? ie Do/can other TAs sell it?

What fare class(es) does it normally book into?

Mr WF junior is interested and has asked if it is a good deal.

Thanks

Not sure which agency you're referring to but I have used this RTW fare booked at a different travel agent to bestflights: Lufthansa, Qantas, United & More Mini Round World Sale to Over 100 Cities Up to 5 Stops Dec 12-Nov 13 - $2269 including taxes (note: very much dependant on your route)

Some other RTW offering's can be found here: Round World Flights - Cheap Flights - Phone Flights Results

I think it's a great fare and is generally available - only had one issue where I had to travel the next day or chose a different transit point in EU in December which kind of made sense. I've booked this fare as far out as 10 months and as close to 2 months before travelling with 2 separate TA's (Flight Centre and a private TA that an aunt used to work for)

Not sure of what fare class this is but it's a definite "do not upgrade" class. That being said however Mrs Diddy and I both managed to score J upgrades on this ticket from YVR to SYD a couple of years ago. OP up that's for sure! Hope this helps.

Check out roundabouttravel.com.au
We've just had there RTW J fares which worked best our open jaw plans in Europe.
No credit card fees! (that saved 2%) All done via email and phone.

i am looking at booking a couple of these tickets (Feb-Mar then again Jul-Aug) <$2090 with QF+BA+AA Round World Sale to Over 90 Cities Mar-Nov 13 - i want status credits and points - is there anything that immediately springs to mind i should know before i go ahead and book?

I finally had a chance to talk with my TA in Perth. Note she was vaguely aware of the fares but did telephone the wholesaler/airline. There are a full range of FinnAir sponsored miniRTW tickets - nominally sold as an European destination with one USA/TPAC and one Asia leg.

Rules will vary slightly depending on the fare class.

AYxEURPU where (at a minimum) x can be Q L or K. Cost, earnings and availability depend on the letter chosen. Not including taxes. Q was about 1800 and L about 2300 AUD.

Happy wandering
