Have my 3 kids with me so would be a lot easier with priority checkin

Can you travel light enough to use carry on only :?:i might do that, still have to wait for the bag drop though so not sure if its worth it

From the JQ site:
'Cabin Baggage limits are strictly applied. Each Passenger (except infants not occupying an aircraft seat) is permitted 1 main item of Cabin Baggage and 1 other small item, with a total combined weight of up to 10kg for Jetstar (JQ)'
As posted this IS incorrect. You can OLCI and/or check in at the QP.Unfortunately no, The operating carrier (JQ in this case) handles all the check-in etc. for their flight so you will need to check in at the Jet* counters at the airport....

Those same 3 options apply when on a JQ flight number as well (domestic)....
So effectively you have 3 options when flying JQ on a QF flight number (QF5xx_):

Is the MEL JQ check-in area still undergoing renovation?Well at MEL I was quite firmly told that even though I had a BP from OLCI I had to queue with everyone else to get to bag drop-no priority queue-apart from those for pax on flights about to close-so 50% of pax got to use those lines!
It is but that's not the problem-it existed before the reno.12 desks available,5 staffed. Is the MEL JQ check-in area still undergoing renovation?
