Hi All,

I have RTW itinerary booked and ticketed for May, but just noticed that under my FF bookings, there is two separate bookings listed. two different PNRs

QFff.jpg

The itinerary includes, QF, BA, AY and AA. (Ticketed by AA - less taxes, not sure if that makes any difference).

I know I did all my seat allocations etc on the second of the PNRs.

Any pointers or ideas? Call QF?

Wow - this exact same thing happened to me today. I changed a BA LHR/EDI flight to the corresponding QF code-share flight and the duplicate appeared with the only difference being the BA or QF flight...

Rang QF and they said not to worry about it.... Although to be honest it's a little disconcerting and I've never seen it happen before.

Maybe it's actually a glitch.

It seems to happen not infrequently with codeshare bookings.

I had a duplicate when flying to NAN - one with QF flight numbers (operated by FJ), one with the FJ numbers. I've also seen it with other codeshare bookings.

I think what can happen is both QF and the operating airline hold a booking number in amadeus (in their own system).

Are the two deleted booking reference numbers different? If so it's not a duplicate by qantas, but I'd say it's one of the codeshare carriers holding a booking in Amadeus for their own internal use.

I had this happen to me back in November after completing OLCI for SYD-LHR-ZRH

I got all excited because the second booking would let me select a seperate seat. Giving myself my own seat block.

No problems at the airport, but someone was sitting next to me. :/

Hi the second appearance for the same booking is actually the booking that QF has made on the Partner airline. I had the same situation recently and asked as was worried had been charged twice lol and with a combination of Welsh and Scottish Blood paying too much is never too good:p

If only every OW airline did this...that way we wouldn't have to ring Bombay to get the QF PNR of a BA codeshare ops by QF!

This is what I see every time I have a booking through Qantas/Ba wich includes flights on BA/Qantas metal.

Both PNRs are Amadeus. The bA on is best for selecting seats on BA metal and hte QF one is best for selecting seats on QF metal.

I have done 2 DONE4s and had the same both times. I rang QF about it and it was explained to me that one was for QF and one for BA. As serfty says you can do your seat selections on the QF one and the BA seat selections on the other.

Yes, it happens with code shares. It happened last year with my BA flight LHR-MXP and I currently have a BNE-FCO via HKK with the second leg with CX. The second booking only popped up after CX did its systems upgrade. I had called CX to request exit row and it makes me feel more comfortable seeing my seats.

That's good to know. I have never had a CX booking show up as a separate booking on my DONE4s before. You used to be able to get either the CX PRN or E-ticket number from Checkmytrip but they only show the the ones for the booking airline now.

CX have switch from (?) Sabre to Amadeus fairly recently (IIRC).

I like it because it gives the impression I've got more trips than I actually have :D

I had a similar thing happen about 3 years ago but ended up canceling my booking. The QF flights dropped out but BA remained. Anyway, while sitting in Oz, I apparently flew NBO - LHR - BOM and got points and SC for the flights!!! Was stoked because that year I would not have requalified as SG.
