How long has the QF flexible date search booking engine (ex-Australia) been displaying JQ fares as the cheapest fares on given dates? It is just plain annoying and rather defeats the purpose of having an engine to find the cheapest QF flights when you have to click through and see who the carrier is that's actually offering the cheapest fares.
It has been a while since I have looked at fares Ex-Aus, but this evening looking at MEL-SIN-MEL, when clicking through on fares that looked quite reasonable it turned out that they were often JQ fares. I notice for flight ex-SIN (SIN-MEL-SIN) this is not the case the QF booking engine doesn't even bring up JQ fares.
I guess the upside is that QF fares usually only available on a return basis so can now be combined with JQ fare. But it is a watchout for those that are careful.
A note when doing a (dumming) booking it brings up standard QF super saver conditions, so those uninformed could actually believe it earns FF points.
As the codes indicates the flights are JQ codes, this is technically not deceptive, but it does seem to come pretty close.
