Hi,

I noticed that on my next flight my return is AMM- BKK with RJ and then i usually fly BKK -SYD-MEL with QF, but this time I have BKK-MEL flight QF 266 operated by Jetstar.

Never flew on a code share with Jetstar and since I’ll have a 1 yo baby with me I would like to know

Will I have to pay (on the BKK-MEL) on board for food?blanket? video? Will I get my QF points and status credits?

I think ticket for the whole trip was issued by RJ.

Thanks

Hope I have this right but I believe that since you have a paid ticket then the extras should be included.

As for SCs and QFF points your booking class will need to be B, H, K, L or Y.

This flight has caused me a lot of grief trying to book some airfares out of BKK. It is not uncommon for most of the online travel agents to offer only options that involve travel on QF266 and not QF2.

Qantas Codeshare on Jetstar Operated Flights

International Long Haul Services

Two inflight meal services (one for a shorter flight to DPS) are provided for commercial Qantas codeshare customers as well as all non-alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.

Each passenger is also provided with a complimentary bottle of water. Any additional refreshments and drinks are available for purchase.

Qantas codeshare customers are also provided with a headset for viewing the overhead video screen and audio as well as a complimentary blanket pack.

For further information on Jetstar’s inflight product, please refer to Jetstar.com

So you should get meals and drinks (non-alcoholic) as well as access to the mainscreen entertainment

Has that changed recently? I could have sworn that it used to be different :?: :-|

You may be thinking of those flying on points, and not commercial passengers

That could be it, points (non-rev) passengers only get the baggage allowance don't they? Wonder how that works now with QF's switch to a piece based system :?:

Foot Note: Why did that quoted text come out so big :lol::lol:

I just find out and you are 100% right!

The class is S class so no points :-(
I have asked for a price using QF 2 to SYD and then MEL if the price is not much higher I think I’ll take the QF 2 option.

What a choice flying 9 hours on Jetstar or 12+ hours but have to change over in Syd.
It’s not the 4000+ points I am worried about it’s the fact that every international flight in the last 12 month (about 7 returns) that I took with Qantas I end up via SYD.

Why cant Qantas fly direct to MEL?
I think I will start using CX flights...
