Arriving into Sydney Int'l with QF and then transferring to Jet* domestic on a different ticket. Could someone please explain the procedure. I presume I go through customs with luggage, then is there a transfer desk for Jet*. Do I catch the shuttle with luggage or can I check in before this.

Is there a Qantas Club in the Jet* terminal?

Thanks for help with this, much appreciated.

If our are on a different ticket, you will have to haul yourself and bags across to the domestic via the train.

There is a QP at terminal 2.

Or there is a bus just outside arrivals, for a fee,of course. As the ground staff will tell you "there is no connection between qantas and jets tar". We all know different, but.

It does work the other way though, if arriving at QF domestic you may use the Qantas shuttle to get to international , even if you weren't flying. Just need an arriving boarding pass. It seems a little unfair they don't offer it the other way around doesn't it... especially with an onwards JQ ticket

That ad with the lady slapping people with a fish could be used to promote JQ and their Connections to QF quite nicely.

So true, whilst I realise it has been mentioned on this forum numerous times about how misterbJoyce cut QF to several routes, including my destination of the sunshine coast I have no choice but to travel with coughstar.
funny enough my ticketing is done from an agent in Singapore with my employer and all my coughstar flights have a Qantas flight designation, but once again we are reminded that there is no affiliation between the two when inquiring at service desks about transfers, etc.

JQ and QF, same same but different ;) .

Any airline can put a designation i.e. codeshare on a JQ flight - AA, BA and JL have them as well I believe.

Yes QF owns JQ, but it is an independent airline with its own AOC, separate management and limited benefits for QF FF holders (lounge access, points/SCs on some flights).
Is better than being an SQ elite and flying TZ (Scoot, 100% owned) or TR/TT (Tiger Asia/Australia, 33% owned) where you get absolutely nada.. zero.. zilch

Not quite, even QF has to get permission to code share with the IASC.
