Saw this one on another forum:

Supposedly there's a bug in QF's system that lets non-status flyers choose legroom seats for $30 rather than the usual exorbitant fee? I don't have a booking coming up so interested to hear if it works for others.

Supposedly in the confirmation email for your trip which includes your e-ticket, you click the [seats] link whereby you are taken to the MMB page and you can choose legroom seats for only $30.

The OzBargain OP posted it there because Qantas customer service evidently failed to take action after it was brought to their attention directly. The bug was fixed less than 16 hours after it was posted on OzBargain.

I just don't get this. What on earth was their motivation?

If you mean the OzBargain OP's motivation, it was frustration with lack of acknowledgment and response from Qantas after having brought it to their attention directly.

Yes, it was 'frustration'. But what was the motivation to bring it to QF's attention in the first place? Did they want to feel 'important' with QF?

Similar to being undercharged for a purchase, some people would raise it if it was a small local business affected, not a large and currently highly profitable corporation like Qantas. Some people would consider that there is no difference between a small local business and a large corporation in that scenario. And other people wouldn't raise it at all.

You'd have to ask the OP or a psychoanalyst.

maybe the same reason one of the forum members here was so keen to talk to Bankwest :-)
