Not that exciting but I just got an email from QF alerting me to the fact that the VISA Card I have can have an additional AMEX attached, and included a graph of my points for the last 6 months and saying I could earn so many more!

Obviously there automated email system doesn't look to see that 90% of those points were earned with my QF co-branded AMEX, and that the VISA is only used for where AMEX isn't available/practical. Silly QF.

QF dont have visibility into what cards earned the points, only which financial organisation purchased points off them in your name. It would be a breach of privacy for them to be made aware of what you did in terms of actual card use to get each and every point.

Marketing Fail - No
Privacy Win - yes

The system also seems to have a bug when > 10,000 points were earned in a month - because it truncates digits.

eg: 10,400 becomes 400 points.

:)

Interestingly when I got home last night I had an ANZ letter asking me to activate my AMEX, now that is a marketing fail given I have had it activated and being used since late last year, however the bonus 1 point per $1 offer until July 16 is appreciated :)

QF can definately see if points are being made through amex or the visa/mc ... for example my ANZ points post separately to QF.

ANZ AMEX xx_xx_x
ANZ Visa xx_xx_x

Yes they can see by type but not actual card, for instance it may be a supplementary card being used to acculmulate the points.

On my QF account,

Once a month;
WESTPAC EARTH; "insert number of points"
If a book a Qantas flight, using Earth;
WESTPAC EARTH QANTAS BONUS; "insert number of points"

Every few weeks;
EVERYDAY REWARDS WOOLWORTHS SUPERMARKETS; "insert number of points"

The Woolworths Rewards does break if down to what chain you earned the points from though; (I'm pretty sure that this would be seen on A LOT of AFF MEMEBERS! :))
"EVERYDAY REWARDS BWS"

Although, l have to be honest, BWS does seem expensive to me, l usually shop at Dan Murphy's, or Vintage Cellards when they have specials on.
