Does anyone know if you can advance seat select via QF for a CX leg?

I can call up the seat map and select a seat but at the end I get this:

At least one of your specific seat requests could not be processed. (4631)

Or should I ring up?

Nick

Go to www.checkmytrip.com

Enter in your Qantas booking reference and note the Cathay Pacific Airline Confirmation number

Go to www.cathaypacific.com and go to Manage My Trip, Manage My Booking

Login under Non-Member with your name and CX Booking Ref

You can then do a seat selection under Service Requests (only for bookings within 180 days)

Did this for an QFF award seat with CX.

Cheers

May not be ticketed yet - was only booked today.. I'll check in a few days.

Earlier this year (February) I booked these flights, departing in December (all booked on the same booking on the QF website):

MEL-SIN-LHR (on QF); then
FCO-LHR (on BA) and LHR-HKG (on CX)

Was able to select seats on all of those flights (well, the BA flight is only a window/aisle selection) right from booking.
It was on award points, but that shouldn't make any difference?

Failing anything else you can email CX (OZ) with your details and request both seat pre-allocation and your CX (CUPID) booking reference.

use: aus_sales (at) cathaypacific.com

I have phoned CX (AU office) recently and requested seat - operator asked for QF booking ID - no problems. CX can advise their booking ID as well and all can be viewed on checkmytrip.

You should have been able to make the seat selection thru the QF site and number. I was able to make seat selections for a CX leg on the QF site.

So have I, but when I look on checkmytrip.com, the seats on the CX leg are not showing as confirmed b the airline (the Air France ones on the same booking are, though).

Yeah it was the same with mine for awhile. Then we I checked back a month or so later it was confirmed. I thought it was because I had selected front row J seats and they were holding them for WP's at first but CX must just be a little slow:lol:

A recent MPC member communication advised that logging into the site with the PNR (or equivalent for CX) and using another programs membership number as a Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald would give you different choices for advance seat selection, though this was then disputed as having been around for a while.

Whatever, it was a reminder, so have you tried logging into the CX site with your booking, and your other 1W member airline FF number entered? Supposedly you should be able to preselect seats.
