I just realised I need to 130 status credits over the next four months to get gold. Any tips on the best way to do this?

Thanks, I did have a look at these, but wasn't sure how current the information is; btw I forgot to add I'm travelling out of MEL

Do you have Green Tier? That’s 50 SCs.

In the absence of any particular reason to travel but just to get Gold, and given a Double Status Credit offer is unlikely to come your way in time, look for a discounted Jetstar flight to the Gold Coast (sometimes as cheap as $39 one way) and add an $85 max bundle in each direction. That’ll get you 30 SCs each way. Do it twice and you’re at 120 SCs.

You're over 500 SC earned already (given you need 700 to attain Gold) - did you apply a loyalty bonus (if you flew all of those earning on Qantas or Jetstar)?

Short of the green tier - which is a great idea above - I'd suggest, depending on your location and budget, flex Y (or even a Business Sale if one pops up - unlikely but not unknown) for something like MEL-SYD-OOL (40 SC each way for flex Y, or SYD-BNE-CNS return, 50 SC each way for flex Y) - but connecting is important, ie SYD-CNS nonstop would only earn 30 SC in flex Y).

However, I too would suggest to think about your next (membership) year's travel needs - how much would you likely fly and where, and would the benefits of Gold be worth it to you to make the effort (financial and time) to get there. That's a worthy exercise to take imo.

Thanks for the suggestions!

And today, right on cue, JQ has $38 flights MEL-OOL. I know you only have 4 months to get your SCs to get gold, but that is for this year. Plan ahead and book some in Feb/March next year (remember you need to add the now $90 max bundle)
