Since being on this forum and constantly seeking out flights/FF deals etc I have came a long way in my education on how to make the most of my personal requirements, thanks to this site and another one I often look at (point hacks) I wish to share my growth in decision making along with other little things I've picked up on the way to suit my needs.
So here is a situation that's leading my every day expenses and frequent travel to all come together.

Before I was relativity blind to FF and credit card set ups.. I simply just chose loyalty to Qantas/Thai for pretty much the sake of a credit card issued by my bank and Thai for just well... Thailand..
Travelling on Average 6 flights a fortnight, Mainly to Thailand from Aus, but randomly anywhere & everywhere as of late. Having a Frequent Flyer Black Card with ANZ often kept me in check with loyalty to Qantas.
Being overseas an average of 4 months a year I've found use of my credit card for international transaction fees and no points earn frustrating whilst away,
Now since the ANZ Rewards Adventures card has came out, My eyes lit up because... A) I'm doing an around the world next month, B) I own properties in Thailand, one happens to be under construction/off-plan and I still happen to owe a balance of around $40k AUD in repayments on this place (yes I can walk into their office and pay by card). I was quick to book all my accommodation for my around the world on the 6 points per $1 deal on Qantas hotels on my FF black card a few weeks ago before switching my card over to the ANZ rewards Adventure card which i'll need for a condo payment next week in Thailand.
This being said this new card it works perfectly for me, but I only want it for the gain of the rewards points I can earn & most importantly no international transaction fee's for when I'm overseas, also convenience of carrying card vs exchanging cash etc(unless I'm buying street food)
On request to transfer my card, ANZ warned me on the phone I'd not be eligible for the free return domestic fare in the first year???? for switching my card over??, no biggie but I thought I'd inform you guys on this as it happened to me maybe id be able to chase it up I'm not sure.(ideas people???)

Seeing as I just renewed my gold status with Qantas for another year, and having 1 year left on my gold with Thai, I thought maybe its time for a change, Time to smarten up and try to get the most out of it all...
It just so happens Perth is my main portal for international travel, I spend more time at Perth airport than i actually do in Perth, Singapore Airlines run the most (4) flights daily in good timing with my work charter flights versus Thai only the one direct flight daily. Qantas I mainly used for domestic travel and sometimes for cheap Jetstar flights to Bali/Singapore, But maintaining 2 golds is pretty difficult, expensive and time consuming in around & about flights I've completed just earn and retain status. Even for someone who flys as much as me.

So I've scrapped the FF Black Card, ditched Qantas, Find myself with the Reward Adventure card, But I am not looking forward to waiting in regular terminals vs airline lounges when it comes to flying with Virgin from now on.
My earn rate for Velocity/Krisflyer points is no longer going to be as credible as the FF Black card was either as I have to redeem my ANZ awards points into velocity/krisflyer miles.
A slight solution to fast track my progress in on my around the world trip next month which I booked for all up around $2260 (through Travelmanagers Aus). I should put a whopping 20k+ mile dent into the 50k required for Krisflyer Gold.
It was made sure the Star Alliance partner airlines accrued elite miles on my trip. Few extra trips from PER-BKK after that Journey should see me hit Krisflyer Gold and entry in Velocity lounges soon enough.. phew I'm lucky Thai gold allows me into Singapore and other star alliance partner lounges already thankfully.
Another solution I have to take up the slack in my rewards earn potential is to get a NAB premium or platinum card & cash in on 50k or 75k velocity points, but most importantly I'd earn points for all my domestic purchases at a better earn rate than the ANZ rewards card does, But also keep the ANZ Rewards Adventure card just for my overseas expenditures to earn there and save most importantly on 2-3% fees.
So ideally and hopefully in the future I should see my Qantas/Thai battles for dual gold, Compressed into the one more convenient banner, Velocity/krisflyer, so anything I earn from credit cards or on flights can go into either program, This equates to more points, more upgrades, more comfortable flying experiences, most likely for a lot cheaper than how I've been doing it in the past as well because i can forward plan as I put my system into place.

If it wasn't for my time spent on here & point hacks, Maybe I wouldn't know to do all this, or to also have the availability for feedback like we also do on here.
To everyone, Thank you, & I hope you enjoy my sharing and can provide any tips you have on my thoughts/situation
