Does anyone know how 'Anytime' / 'MileSaver' awards relate to Qantas Awards ?

- ExpertFlyer shows diddly-squat J-Class available for QF from LAX to SYD on a date I'm lurking. As does Qantas site directly (nothing new there).
- ExpertFlyer shows 7*J-Seats available on same dates (and indicates QF operated) for their 'Anytime' award.

Is 'AA Anytime' the equivalent of 'QF Anyseat' ?
If so, then how come AA Anytime is only double the points cost of MileSaver - whereas Qantas Anyseat is roughly TEN times the points of Classic ?

AA anytime rewards are set at twice milesaver. Not equivalent to QFF anytime awards.Notoriously difficult to get QF premium cabin awards through Aadvantage.
However i have secured an Aaward on QF in J when mrs.dr.ron as WP could not get it through QF.But really you have to ring AA for that-was not showing up online.

Really?? AA could book an AAdvantage award on QF J? Even though QF showed no award availability?

In my experience, AAdvantage availability for QF J (u) and F (P) awards have the same availability as for QFF members. The only difference is that QFF members can access them for a few weeks before they become available to AA and other OneWorld FF programs. But if looking at a timeframe less than 330 days ahead, I have found that if QFF or ExpertFlyer show U or P available, they are available for an AAdvantage award redemption.

Now back to the OP's question, AAdvantage Anytime awards are only available for AA flights, so cannot be used for redemptions on QF flights.

This was my understanding - on both points.

Yes this happened to us.No QFF availability ringing-could put us on the BA flight.Rang AA's BNE office and got the Aaward on QF2 BKK-SYD.

Wow... Thanks drron, I'll give it a try :)

Of course, that could be "markets'.

i.e. QF can have different fare bucket availabilities (including awards) depending on agent/market/POS/Country/etc.

e.g. The AA POS may have been different different to QF POS.
