Bah topic should read qf windows 7 app. Can a mod please update? Stupid iPod!

I use to have a Windows 6.1 phone and hated it, I shortly moved to an iPhone. So I have been hesitant to try anything else, but I tried the new Windows 7 phone in the Telstra store and was suprised at how well it works, I consider it to be just as good as, or better than the current iPhone.

However, Apple are planning a Major overhaul of the iOS (iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad Software) on July 1. I'm sure they will try to get ahead of W7p again.

The QF App looks much better than the iPhone version, which, in my view is just a shortcut to their moble web-site.

I’ve played around with a Windows Phone 7 device too and the UI is OK but there just isn’t developer support for it. I know quite a few mobile developers both in the Valley and here and I don’t know a single one who has shifted from targeting iOS or Android to writing apps for Windows Phone 7. Without developers there just won’t be the hundreds of thousands of apps that makes the iPhone so great. I know Microsoft is spending billions of catch-up dollars on Windows Phone, just as they are on Bing, and some of it is working (particularly with Bing) and I wish them well because competition is a good thing but, realistically, they’ve got a long, long way to go.

Re: Qantas app on Windows 7 phone

*Drools*

There already is another threat discussing the Qantas Windows Phone 7 App.

I have the Samsung Omnia 7. It's a large phone, but the screen is great AMOLED - similar to the Omnia II)

If you;ve have WinMo before, then WP7 is so much better. Fast, less crashprone, has a back button etc.

That said, it still lacks a bit of polish (the phone dialer is a step backwards, you can't easily attach any type of file except photos/videos to emails etc).

But if you are a heavy WinMo user (e.g. you rely on full ActiveSync to Exchange, then they are pretty awesome phones). I still have a HTC Diamond and a Samsung Omnia II in use (different SIMs for other countries that I need to visit often), but the WP7 is definately way ahead.
