I'm flying F Syd/Bkk on QF1 21 July and back on QF2 Bkk/Syd on 28 July.

Why am I paying A$4.5k more than my standard JQ29/30 fare of A$2k? Because as I see it flying F on the 744 is shortly on the scrap heap and something which needs to be enjoyed before it is lost.

Anybody want to join a wake of 744 F in the Syn F Lounge? Text me on +61 408 843 089. I'll be in the Syd FLounge from ~13:00 until ~16:30 21 July. I'm 1.92m / 6'3" with dark curly hair. Hard to miss.

I mean WTF QF1/2 with no F? Where the H**L is QF going? I do remember flying PA1/2 F many times around the world and I really hope QF will not follow that downward spiral pathway.

I've been feeling a bit nostalgic about 744 F for the last 6 months or so... to the extent that I've been deliberately choosing sectors on the 744.

While the new F cabin / suite is top-notch, it does have a "sterile", and slightly cluttered, feel to it. What it lacks in comparison to the 744 is that spacious, open feel of the A zone in the 744. When you sit in the E/F seats as a couple, you get a panoramic view of both the cabin and the outside world through so many windows.

Better stop ... tears welling up!:(

Not flying internationally for a while....

But i'm gonna fly in the F cabin to PER next week....good times

Do we have an eta for roll out of the new non F config seating on QF1 & 2? They are still selling F Dec 2011.

To me seat technology is not what makes QF F the ultimate long haul flying experience. The airlines try really hard to sucked you in with the seat / suite eye candy. As an example the CX J Coffin seats are, IMHO, cough. Sat in those seats twice. Never again.

QF F is simply about nothing other than top of the line personal human service, food and wines. That is also why I like dining at Penfolds Magill Estate restaurant instead of Fasta Pasta which is just down the hill.

I expect that AJ will soon enhance QF1/2 Syd/Bkk/Syd to be JQ29/30 Mel/Bkk/Mel. I'm told that JQ *Class now uses porcelain to serve the meals on. Will sure save on serving Grange to F Paxs flying to Bkk. Well at least outside the FLounge.
