QF108 now from TBIT - how do you transfer to T4?

Hi,

I am booked to travel on QF108 (JFK to LAX), which now arrives at TBIT at LAX. There is no information on the Qantas website about transferring from TBIT to T4 (for QF16 to BNE) and I was wondering what the process is, as I won't need to go through immigration, as it will essentially be a domestic flight.

Thanks

Once you go through immi inbound to lax and rechecked your luggage it is a quick walk to tbit

Thanks simongr, but you have it backwards - I am coming inbound (from JFK) to TBIT (QF108) ... and then need to transfer to Terminal 4 from my international flight home. The Qantas website only has information for the scenario you described, not for QF108 to QF16.

It is indeed a 2 minute walk from TBIT landside to T4 - at that time of the evening T4 security is light so total time shout be nor more than 15 minutes.

However, I am sure Qantas would provide reverse Bus travel for QF15 PAX if you want the 'tarmac' tour.

Note that when the TBIT "West" construction is finished there are planned to be airside walkways between T4 and TBIT (and T3 for that matter).

serfty will most likely be the man here... but I'm on 108 connecting on to 94 in a few weeks. I'm assuming I just walk from one gate to the other (like it's domestic) for the arrival into LAX?

I've never arrived on a Domestic flight into TBIT; however with the opening and closing of a few doors it looks like they could easily route QF108 PAX directly onto the departures concourse rather than down to the dungeons of international arrivals.

Thanks serfty. I've not really spent any time at TBIT since I moved my LAX traffic to VA and VX/DL. I know it's a bit of a war zone with construction work.

108 to 94 is only a 90 minute connection, so hopefully they let us 'transit' rather than the need to clear and go back upstairs through security (of course that's providing it's not 1-oh-late that day).

I did this back in September, though ended up being 108 to 108 due to late flights. We were just bussed gate to gate, no security required (though it was so late we were told that if we left the terminal, there would be no one to let us back in...)

I don't think a bus is par for the course - ideally QF108 would head to a proper gate for the disembarkation.

I guess worst case they'll mis-connect me onto 108 and then down to MEL. Although less than ideal (I need to head straight to work from the airport).

Knew I didnt make sense...got off the plane at a gate, went to the appropriate bus gate and was taken over to the other terminal. Had been awake for 24 hours by then so I've got only a vague recollection of what actually happened :p

Not the greatest, but they did have it really well organised, especially with all the connecting flights to Melbourne. I was more annoyed at missing out on the A380.

OK, I understand now - you arrived at T4 on QF108 (332) and bussed to TBIT where QF108 (744) was waiting.

Going forward QF108 will arrive and depart from TBIT. As per upthread, QF16 PAX to BNE coming off QF108 will need to make the trek to T4.
