Hello Brains Trust,

Can anybody give me an idea of the schedule allocated aircraft running on QF11 SYD/LAX..

I have a flight in October on a Saturday morning, looking at Flight radar over the last few week QF11 seems to rotate between a A380 or a 787.

Is there any rhyme or reason to why they switch aircraft types so many times during the week…??

Can I guarantee I’ll be on in a 380 on a Saturday morning

It's impossible to "guarantee" an aircraft type on a specific departure, but at present the A380 is scheduled to operate QF11 six times weekly in October, with only Tuesday departures being operated by a 787.

I notice QF12 (planned for the A380) on Mon 24 Oct has been zeroed out on EF. That means they’re going to swap it, right?

I'm seeing QF11 way in the future (25th November) have 0 F seats, 0 J seats, and only 1 W seat for sale despite the seat map looking suspiciously empty for those cabins on the nominally an A380... are they really zeroing these out for 787 downgrade this early?

I'm on QF11 early October, and it's all zeroed out but the seatmap shows plenty of seats available across all classes.

Interestingly, the seatmaps for the flight show different blocked/available depending on if you select QF11 or AA7374. Even rows that don't exist in the other (Eg. Row50 H,J,K)

Possibly an EF anomaly as you can't enter an FF number for AA seatmaps (it only accepts FF numbers for JL/QF/VA/NZ/LH/BA seat maps)

Has been available for years under My Account. I think you may have a QFF number in your profile though, your QF seatmap screenshot looks like WP seating options?
Yes WP for me, I didn't realise that was setup, but would've happened years ago when I first created a EF account. Nice to know, thank you @sudoer

Bear in mind that QF has been doing a LOT of shuffling and changes at fairly short notice of recent times. The required checking/repair of A380's with the spar crack (potential) issue means they have to take two out of service for an extended period - probably one at a time - so it will mean more shuffling, and 787 shells are at a premium too.

honestly it's a mess and for once this one isn't entirely on QF.

(I write this hoping to be on some sort of 380 next week on QF11 though noting the OTP on 1/2/11/12 lately perhaps a 787 would be better! :( )

Seems the QF11 Saturday flights in OCT are now scheduled on 787's. This is disappointing as I've been moved to an undesirable seat.
Hoping for a last minute change to an a380, but unlikely.

Just heard from my gym instructor that there was no second meal service on her flight QF11 on 14 September as the oven had broken down inflight... I think it was a B787?

bruh...
Couldn't use other ovens? I guess if they only found out a oven was broken close to landing, but even then...

Email from QF today - QF12 LAX-SYD early November equipment changed to 789 due to "unscheduled maintenance on A380 fleet". Assuming the inbound SYD-LAX (or a MEL-LAX) will also have to change accordingly unless it's being done in LA.

Missed out on getting to fly F for the first time. Also the downgrade on fare class killed my WP qualification which would have ticked over on the way back. Any ideas on whether that's grounds for an ORC for the difference in SC's due to equip change?

Email from Qantas says they will still allow us to use the F lounge at LAX before departure but no souvenir PJs I guess.

Looks like my QF11/AA7374 on a Monday in October is now a 787, for a while the QF was listed on ExpertFlyer as an A380 and the AA7374 as a 787 - that could've got interesting!

Interesting that on a number of flights AA has more seats for sale in F than QF does (on the same flight). There's one flight where I know there are only 5 seats left yet AA is selling 7.

Flew QF11 on Sept 4. Was downgraded to 787 a couple of days beforehand. I still managed to change to 40A, however on boarding discovered 40B and C had a couple with their basinet infant. I always try to get row 40 if I can, but this is the first time there has ever been a basinet kid next to me. Fortunately 40K was a no show, so FA moved me to 40K once seatbelt sign went out. There was not a single spare seat on the whole aircraft, apart from the no show in 40K.

I'm on QF12 on October 2.
