Does anyone have any intel if Bulkhead with extra leg room is a better seat than my current?
This is HK - SYD A380 J.

If you are tall with big foots, you will enjoy a bit more room for your feets when lying flat. I find it usefull when sleeping and turning around. I am 6'4.

Agree, bulkhead is far superior!

17A is also on the aisle whereas 16K is hard up against the window, with space between the seat and the aisle.

Just curious but isn't this also the route that F isn't sold so the "best" is the F seats?

Thanks all. taken it.. never been on an a380 J, curious as to how it compares with the a330. i think worse due to more J seats

As per elanshin’s post, if you can snag a seat in rows 1-5 you should do that. Any seat, even a middle one. Those are first class suites, sold as business class on the QF128.

Actually while I quite like the a330 business class because it it quite small and intimate, the additional legroom of rows 11 or 16 on the a380 give a very nice ride with heaps of room. There’s a proportional increase in crew on the a380 so service isn’t really impacted.

That does not compute 🤔

Anyway, not my experience

Sorry i was on the phone. what i meant was, how does J compare on the A380 to the A330. QF24 im well versed so curious as to how the layout, service etc is on the a380 in J.

Exactly the same as the a330 and 787, except a much longer cabin on the a380.But the crew divide it up by zones or rows, so there’s not really that much of a difference over the other two aircraft.

There is a risk your ‘new cabin’ a380 could get swapped for the one non-refurbished a380. That doesn’t change the service, but the seats and level of privacy are vastly different. Securing a seat in rows 1-5 is then even more desirable.

The A380 windows seats are superior to the A330 because of the side storage bins on the upper deck. The bulkhead window seats are also substantially more roomy than the A330 equivalents.

The middle seats feel nearly identical on both aircraft, with the exception of the movable privacy divider on the A380.

The size of the cabin doesn't really make any difference if you're seated towards the front. The the A380 J/F onboard "lounge" can be useful - I prefer sitting there when working on a laptop for a sturdy work surface.
