QF309 to Jeddah on 'interesting' night

QF309 operated yesterday (Friday 25 March 2022) from SYD to JED on what must have been a charter flight, perhaps for the Grand Prix, arriving 65 minutes late at 2005 hours.

Aircraft B789 VH-ZNA appears to still be in Saudi Arabia so one assumes the crew would be in that nation.

However there's been an attack on an Aramco oil bunker causing a mammoth explosion and fire. It's widely reported.

A worrying time.

I assume it is for the Socceroos who are playing Saudi Arabia in Jeddah on Tuesday. Qantas does sponsor the team so would explain the flight I suppose.

Sound more like Socceroos. Fortnight between Saudi and Australian GP so most of the F1 crew will head back to Europe.
