Hi all,

Have just noticed in the "Manage My Booking" page on the QF site that QF31 from SIN to LHR departing on December 27 at 11:59pm has had the arrival time changed to 10:35am (from 6:20am), but the departure time is still showing as the same, and the flight duration is now showing 18hr 36min (still on an A380).

Does anyone know what's going on? Eg. is the departure itself also delayed but they left the departure time the same to still make people get there for an "on time departure", or is there a significant re-routing required due to some kind of international incident?

Coincidentally, can an A380 even fly for that duration? My understanding was that the B747ER was pushing it doing the DFW route...

Either way, my points upgrade to J had better come through or I am going to snap haha!!

Many thanks to anyone in the know :)

QF31 is delayed ex SYD with a departure time of 2200. It looks like the times in SIN haven't been update yet for departure or arrival of the QF31

With a 2200 departure from SYD it would be most likely they are waiting for the arrival of the inbound QF32 so they can use it for the QF31.

The QF10 was cancelled the Christmas Day, so this could be the knock on effect from that.

I am on this flight tonight....arriving in Sin via Qf 81 from ADL....arriving at 19:30....

It is going to be a long day/night.
The funny thing for us is that we are flying from LHR to Glasgow the morning we arrive. Qantas did have us booked on the 8:30am flight, but I was concerned about connection time between the flights, so I changed to a lunchtime flight....boy am I glad now!

Thanks so much for all your help everyone - glad that someone knows what's going on! :)

I ended up calling the SIN QF number to ask about my points upgrade and request that it be approved so we could get a good sleep after staying up later than expected, and was told they would "see what they could do" - 5 mins later our phones beeped with the 'upgrade successful' message! All I can say is thank god!!!! :D As they will be moving people to QF9, the aircraft will be reasonably empty, so if anyone else has upgrade requests in, check them now ;)

Yes, Qantas rang us this morning and said that they had moved us to QF9. We even got the same seats!
Excellent!

I was booked on QF 31 as well and moved to QF 9 as soon as I saw the extended delay.

As a bit of an update - we were offered J on BA16 (B777) as QF9 J is full, however we chose to remain on QF31 for the A380 J seats (arrival time isn't critical). I've been told that they are admitting all J pax on QF31 to the F lounge tonight - so here I sit writing this message! :)
