Would one not expect an upgrade to J being on a flex ticket and Plat member when there is 1/12 passengers in J today :(

Also what ever happened to comp drinks on these birds, no plat greeting and no drinks, I must say they did offer a free glass from J once the one passenger had indicated no more :)

Unless Y was oversold, Nope...

After 4pm for free drinks, and I've not had a WP greeting in Y for a domestic flight ever.. I don't expect one either.

Respectfully, boylero, I think you might be crying over spilt milk.

It's a well-known QF policy not to upgrade passengers for no reason. And as nlagalle stated, the complimentary beverages are a feature of Citiflyer flights departing after 4pm (except for PER).

So you had to fly in the class you paid for and you got a free drink when QF did not have to give it to you (before 4pm departure).

I would call that a win.

You were flying out of ADL - we all know what they are like with PB (or lack thereof).

There is no entitlement to be operationally upgraded as a Plat...but it sounds like you expect it. An understanding of Yield Management as described by nlagalle is a good education.

Actually, on my last 3 flights on 737 ex MEL, BNE and ADE I have had the CSM walk into rows 4 and 5, and offer the WPs a glass of wine after they finish the J service. I suspect it may be part of a trial? These were not Citiflyer flights, and some departed prior to 2PM.

Thanks for the education guys, I'll remember to not expect anything from now
