Looks like they had an issue with QF89, departed BNE then pulled a figure-eight and back to BNE. Does anyone have any news? We're waiting to go back on QF90.

Sitting at the Novotel in Brisbane and have been following the flights coming and going. Noticed this too

BNE says (re-) boarding soon, scheduled for 4pm. Don't know if same aircraft or replacement.

Well we arrived back on one piece, almost five hours late. The vibe in the lounge changed when all the connecting passengers were going to miss their flights to MEL, LAX etc. Some were pretty relaxed about it, some were not amused with being on the early flights the next morning. I didn't engage with them to find out more as they looked pretty stressed. Couldn't find out why the original aircraft returned. Life goes on.
