I'm on QF9 in a few weeks with the family, I was able to select the seats when booking, however I'm unable to now as I get the "Individual seat selection isn't available for this flight. Select Window or Aisle". What could be causing this? Seat map on EF is showing three blocked seats, one available and the rest all occupied, could it be the 80% 'rule' at play, and how do I overcome it? I'm QF Gold if that means anything these days!

Cheers.

It will be the 80% rule, plus the fact that if you clearly have more than 1 pax in your booking, but you (as Gold) can "see" only 1 available seat then you there are not enough seats available to your party to change to (I guess it would make sense if you wanted to change one pax of say 4 travelling to move to an empty window or whatever you like). Anyway the system I'm thinking is saying not enough seats left to satisfy a change request for everyone in your booking.

So if you did want to try to move say one pax in your booking into that open seat you see then you may have to gamble with the call centre or online chat.. or wait till T-80 and hope better options open up.
