Evening all,

Long time lurker.

I've just booked a classic rewards flight from Tokyo-Colombo-Male on business. The first leg is operated by Sri Lanka, and the second Emirates. Both business. I have a single E-ticket listing both flights.

The layover is about 2.5 hours in Colombo.

My questions are:-

- Will I need to collect my bags at Colombo and check-in again with Emirates (annoyingly, I presume so);
- If I happened to miss the connecting flight, am I afforded any protection given its a classic rewards through the one ticket?

Thanks all!

There is a transit page on the Colombo website so it looks like you can stay airside if bags are checked through (I seem to recall there is no segregation between arriving and departing passengers):

You should be protected if you miss the connection.

Welcome to AFF. Further to the previous post, I would expect your bags to be checked through being on one ticket. They’re supposed to have interline agreement between UL and EK.
