The domestic aa fare I booked today still shows my qff status as saphire and not emerald. I wonder if it is in the aa system as I was saphire when I booked my other coming domestic us trips? I thought todays' booking would show as platinum? Want to make sure I get flounge access during trip and will have my qff card with me, just don't want hipcups.

Ask them to remove and re-input QFF number and it should be fixed. Did this once at JFK AA counters and it worked fine. You should be fine.

This worked for me when I was over there (well, here since I'm back in the US now) earlier this year when I hit WP part way during a trip and hence did not have a WP card at the time. Remove and re-enter. Works a treat.

When you say F Lounge, do you mean AA Flagship lounge (ie at LAX, ORD, JFK)? Because QF int F Lounges would most certainly let you in without seeing your card if you are on a QF flight which shows your FF status on the BP... and on their system..

Yes, I meant aa flagship lounges plus flounges at t3 LHR on my forthcoming trip.

Curious, when you say take out number and re-enter qff, was this done at check-in?
cheers

Sorry to bring this up again, now at dfw, first dom. flt. 21/10 to okc. Just pre-checked in via reservations hyatt dfw, boarding pass still showing saphire. As it's not busy went down to aa ck. in TD, they didn't know what to do, gave me phone number for aa, spoke with someone, unsure if she took out my qff number but she was able to delete saphire but it came back up saphire and didn't go to emerald.
Advan. ex. closed until monday, should I try tomorrow if ck. in here at dfw isn't busy ask them to try and remove my qff number and see if this works? The ck.-in agent I saw initially said even tho. checked in I can take my bags to the counter.
Just wanting to make sure I get flounge access Ord and Lhr.
I do have my platinum card but lady at ck-in at dfw wasn't sure about any of it. Lady on the phone said it happens to advantage members also, so maybe she did try and take out my qff number.
So much for info. aa @ fiji or wherever it is telling me, my first domestic boarding pass will show new status and also then phoning qf and telling me they were faxing off status change for last dom. flt. I booked in Aug.
Sorry to be so long winded, feel fairly jet lag and out of it. Plus I self-fund my flts. and I've been close to P for a few yrs. and wanting to take advantage of what is on offer.

not sure what she did to 'delete sapphire' - maybe she was just trying to delete the word off the bp?? It should be very simple. Just ask them to remove the FF number completely. Then wait a few minutes maybe and ask them to enter it back in again.

In any event - the emerald card is all you need to gain entrance to the lounge. If you get any questions (you won't) just explain the booking was made when you were still at the lower level.

I had similar issues on my travels around the US last week. On my previous trip to the US in August my Emerald status was printed on boarding cards (status renew is Nov 2013) but last week for some reason all boarding passes printed Sapphire. I had the a/c staff re-enter ff number again and it came back as Sapphire- I had my ff card with me so no big deal - but they blamed QF and said it is an issue with the info they are getting from QF. I rang QF on friday just to see if something was "wrong" and they said it was strange as I was showing as Emerald but to "see what hapens next time".. so I suppose we will wait and see.
