Hi All,

Easy question I guess. I was wondering if it's possible to join QFF then claim for the flights just taken whilst not a member?

I have a firned how will be flying back from the UK tomorrow after a holiday and they didn't join QFF before they left (silly bugger) and wanted me to find out if they could join then claim.

Cheers

Yes as said above it is a 30 day window in the FF T&C's....

I was fortunate enough to get an op-up Perth to Sydney a few days ago. As a result of the evacuation at the international terminal in Perth an inbound Tokyo flight was unable to disembark passengers. The aircraft was scheduled to operate a PER-SYD flight (the one prior to the one I was booked on) so a number of passengers were moved to the same flight as myself. No FF points have posted. I know I'm only entitled to the Y points (and I assume they haven't posted because of some issue with the op-up) but has anyone been successful in claiming J points in such a situation? From memory when claiming missing points the website asks for the class of travel. I'd prefer to fax in a copy of my boarding pass. It's not so much the points as the SCs I'm after!

On my last op-up it took 4 days for the flight to post, and that was on the same flight, and they did post as discount economy with upgrade references and all.

Not sure that anyone recently has reported swinging business class SC's in these cases.

I had a flight cancelled recently and didn't receive points - I had to chase them up.

Same, mine posted fine with the upgrade reference... no chance of W or J SC's i am afraid :(

I'd wait three days, then put in the online claim then wait up to another 5 working days for the points to post.

If no joy, I'd then firstly call QFF and see what they say (they'll either fix it on the spot or ask you to FAX a copy of the BP). With the fax option, these days I send an email with an attached image of the BP.

They've now posted - and only for Y! Oh well. The op-up was great luck in itself.

I think QF have a very good handle on how op-ups are treated (you may have more luck with an op-up from another airline crediting as the higher class) so no more SC's than they want you to have. Still an Op-up is worth a lot more than that to me on international flights.

I got one segment QF staff put my CX account.
But I prefer go with QF.

Still discuss with them right now.
