QFF Member Specials

I didn't see those specials as always being for assisting burn of points. I also saw them as being useful for Qantas to get underperforming routes a little busier with FF'ers.

I'm sure they will come back.

Another small possibility is that as a consequence of the website revamp for the new FF website, the discount functionality isn't yet working properly - thus no discounted offers can be released.

I noticed the lack of QFF points discounts last month. I have a feeling the any seat awards has had an influence on the availability of QFF points discounts. Who knows what will happen once the dust has settled....

Yep, I posted about this last month on flyertalk.

I wouldn't expect to see any new offers until next month, as generally the offers change every 2-3 months.

Thanks for the updates. I guess it will be a case of Q (and us) learning how the 'any flight' options affect redemptions and availabilities.

I like to check the member specials to help me drive my flying dollar further. (with apologies to Bob Ansett)

Possibly, but I actually think the bigger thing at play here is that QF have cut capacity (like all carriers) targetting routes that underperform for them, which are typically the routes they discount on.

Therefore they are getting more paid bums on seats therefore less need to discount points to fill up planes.

I actually think that it's a bit of both.

An improvement to the redemption process is you no longer have to add promo codes to get any disc offer when booking which is a step in the right direction
