Dear fellow AFF'ers,

I've got a question - I've got to take a flight, SYD-MEL on 1st Feb and was planning on using the QFF Platinum perk (or convenience or favor ?) to request for 1 classic reward seat to be released.

Cabin : Y

Date of Request : 25/01

Date of Travel : 01/02

Time of flight : 10 am QF 423 or 432 (not sure)

I was told on the phone by the CC agent that a request has been put in and I would be notified on 27/01 if the request has went through.

I haven't heard anything yet and was wondering how long would it take for QF to confirm release of classic reward seat for Platinum ?

Wanting to hear your experiences in this, if any ?

Cheers,
Ade

Thanks @Kangol - I thought I'd cal them, but, I specifically asked over the phone, the agent on the phone did mention that they'd contact me via text message... so wasn't sure if it was ok to give them a call when I was told that I'd be contacted ...

But I think I will give them a call today and check - I've got the booking ref anyways

What's MMB ?

Yes, 48 hours is the usual timeframe. In my experience an email is sent to you with a note to contact them about the outcome of your request. Given it's domestic and still on request it's likely a no. Are you able to be more flex about other flights on that morning? You may have more luck there.
I would have thought a Saturday morning would have X seats available to be honest. QF401 the 0600 is showing X9 so you can get a seat on that if need be. Also QF465 at 7pm.

I was thinking I will do the early morning flight .. but the person I'm meeting up with isn't available until 11 am ... I could possibly spend sometime in the lounge until I'm ready to get into the city or let me see if I can push our meeting forward ...

Assume you are requesting an economy seat?

Plats generally need space in N for auto-approval so I'm not surprised this was kicked up for manual assessment.

QF411 (7:30 dep 9:05 arr) is showing N9 so likely to be granted if your QF423 request is declined.
