QFF points - Can they be converted to AA points?

A call to all 'experts'....

I'm just wondering, can a QFF Member convert their points to another system, such as AA?

I've got a good 600k points in the kitty with QFF.

What's my options?

QFF points cannot be transferred out to AA

I was half hoping for something like '1 for 2'.

I'll probably use them for a family holiday.... via QF only!

Nope. Once the points are in your QF FF account the only way to use the points is for Qantas awards.

But it would be nice if you could divert your points to a Hotel Loyality Scheme like Starwood Preferred Guest - Starwood Hotels & Resorts loyalty program at spg.com and then onforward them to another airline...

Maybe I'm a cynic. It'd be nice if I won the lottery a few times though it's not likely to happen. Still, it's more likely than QF changing the rules so you can convert the points to another loyalty program.

Aside from using them for awards/upgrades, letting them expire or incurring lots of point fees, there are some other ways of divesting oneself of QFF points.

Frequent Flyer - Using Points - Qantas Frequent Flyer Store or Frequent Flyer - Using Points - Hotel & Car Rental Awards .


It is generally acknowledged, that these methods in most cases, are far less efficient in relation to value for points than actually using them for awards/upgrades.

Why on QF only? They can be used on any OW airline, as well as on other QF-partner carriers.
