Does anyone have an opinion on earning Asia miles (Cathay Pacific) instead of QFF points, as I do now and then using them on Qantas/One World airlines?
Have just read the following article stating how many more QFF points are needed for a redemption compared to Asia miles.
Would be interested in opinions/thoughts from those 'in the know' please!

How to book cheap Qantas award flights with Asia Miles

Not a direct answer or opinion but you also need to note on the earning of points/miles in both programs and your own likely earnings in both to determine what would be best including travel patterns (eg: if you'd travel CX more it may make more sense to be in their program for local carrier benefits) and so on. It may not be as straight forward as it seems and likely will vary for each individual depending on circumstance.

Thankyou for reply, definitely food for thought.

AM also has greater access to CX inventory. If you plan to redeem on Cathay, AM will unlock more options than Qantas can.

My current strategy is:

- Don't bother with Qantas at all
- Credit all paid flights to X program
- Credit card points go to Y program

Not many programs are good for elite status earning/flight miles crediting, AND, great for redemption AND have good credit card transfer rates.

sorry, do you mean paid flights credits to one program and card point credits to another?
