QFF tax calculation for SYD-HKG return

Hi

I don't have enough QFF points to redeem a return trip using QFF from SYD to HKG, but would like to know the fuel surcharge/tax cost.

Could someone please do a search for me for SYD-HKG 31 July and HKG-SYD 31 August on Qantas metal (so 60,000 points) and tell me how much the total cash payment needs to be?

I am trying to work out if it is better to go with QFF or another program.

You can't see the taxes and surcharges if you do not have enough QFF points? That is a little disappointing.

If doing a classic award the cost is 60,000 QFF points and $331.64 for taxes and surcharges.

If doing an any seat award award the cost is 105,779 QFF points or 60,000 QFF points and $469.26 in taxes and surcharges. Of course with any seat award you will earn 60 SCs (~133 QFF points pro-rata) and ~9,162 QFF points for the flights with no status and ~18,324 QFF points as a Platinum.

P.S As a Platinum it is only ~42,000 QFF points + the SCs. That is good value compared to SQ which has high(ish) fuel surcharges. Decisions, decisions....

You can also do a fare search for Qantas flights using http://matrix.itasoftware.com/cvg/dispatch/ .

Check the fare details/rules/details and you will see a list of the

(subtract the fare from the total).
