I pay for QC membership. For domestic flights this entitles me to take 1 guest.

If I also have a guest pass that was mailed to me, can I use this at the same time and take 2 people in or does one need to be WP for that?

I don't think you, per se, are using the guest pass. Whoever you give it to is. Hence no problems with 3 of you accessing the QP. You, the guest you are allowed under the QP rules, and the person you gave the guest pass to (they do not need to be accompanied by you). WP is irrelevant in this case.

Excellent.

It's not entirely clear in the T&C so thought I'd ask here. I wasn't sure if the guest pass is a completely separate person or if they need to be a guest of a member still.

Those T&C's can be confusing, but just the other day a friend of mine was travelling PPT-AKL-MEL with a scheduled ~4 hour connection (ended up being ~8 :( ) and she spent that time in the AKL QP courtesy of a guest pass given to her by a friend (who wasn't travelling).

I assume what you have received in the mail is not a "Guest pass", but is a "Complementary Invitation". The invitation provides lounge access to the holder so long as they are travelling on Qantas that day and does not need to be accompanied by the member to whom the pass was delivered.

Correct. Sorry I now realise a Guest Pass is something different :) Yes I got a 'Complimentary invitation' when hitting Silver a while back.

Good to know I can give that to one friend and they can walk in independant of me, and have the other friend as my guest :) Then we can all hit the scotch and be merry.

Yes, my terminology was wrong also, a Complimentary Invitation is indeed what I was referring to.

I'd hope it's about time the term Guest Pass is put to bed forever, I think it's over 4 years since they were valid/relevant (though maybe there are still shysters out there trying to peddle them)!!

There is still such a thing as a Qantas Club Annual Guest Card. This card allows a Qantas Club member to bring one additional guest each time they visit a Qantas Club lounge.

IIRC correctly, some came out with no expiry date printed on the cards. So they could linger around forever! However, havn't seen any on Ebay for quite a while, so perhaps they are out of circulation!

I have a stack with no expiry dates printed on them ;).

Hi,

Firstly, great site! Have been following it for some time before joining up.

Secondly, I know this has been mentioned numerous times but...
Would anyone be willing to part ways with a Complimentary Qantas Club pass valid til end of August?

I obtained 1 when I hit Silver status but am hoping to get my partner in when we fly Jetstar to coughet on August 11.

If all else fails I'll try to "sweet talk" staff at the desk, but hoping to guarantee our entry in case they're full or not friendly that day

Thanks again!

Jetstar flights are treated the same as Qantas - that any Qantas Club member or Gold FF member can always take 1 guest in with them.

For international qc lounge use:

Member and 1 guest can access lounge on day of departure.+
Guest must be travelling with member.

+ Must be travelling on a Qantas, British Airways or Jetstar flight number.

So you wouldnt need any complimentary passes to get your partner in....you only need the pass to if you are a group of 3.

As for guaranteeing your entry....they never guarantee anything and always reserve the right of refusal even for plat members if it's very busy or there's a problem...whatever.

Unfortunately I'm not a Qantas Club member, just a Silver FF, which is why I'm enquiring about Complimentary passes.

Might not be relevant to your situation but beware ...

I tried to use SIN QP when in transit waiting for my 7:30am BKK Jet* flight but came unstuck as QP was closed until after my flight left...

Will teach me for taking a Tiger flight PER-SIN..Not much open in T1 around 3am..couldn't even check in my bag til 5:30!

Sorry if I'm off topic..

Yes the QF J and F lounges are not always open at the times that are specified on the website. If I remember correctly I posted a similar warning in another thread.

On a recent visit I entered the SIN QF J lounge at around 11:00am and was happily using the internet and having a beer but everything else was shut down while they were cleaning, even to the point where some lights were also switched off. I also asked for a couple of glasses of champagne waiting for my 1:30pm flight. I could not see any other travellers in the J lounge and I am not sure if they were letting anyone else in to the J lounge at that time.
