QR Business Class lounge in Doha utterly appalling

Really? Im a little confused by people’s expectations and still wonder if we are talking of the same lounge.

Looks like some people out there really don't like the Al Mourjan lounge...Why I Disliked Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Business Class Lounge - TravelUpdate
It's true that it's not "cosy", but I like the water feature under the staircase. I also like their selection of champagne. Don't know about the food...I'm usually already full when I get there!

I'm guessing its the space. When they go in, maybe some expect grand organ pipe music, or minions scuttling about asking which year Champagne is desired or ... something.

For me, its an airline Business lounge. As we know, there are seats (of various styles), power points, wifi, showers, two eating/drinking areas, work areas, coffee machines, space and (mostly) peace and quiet.

Not as good as the Pier J lounge at HKG nor, most EK J lounges (eg Singapore), but hellavalot better than sitting at the gate lounge at DOH, and also the QF J lounge at MEL for instance.

Interesting . But there’s nothing in that report that really causes one to dislike it as much as they did except the hover of the shower person. This didn’t happen with me at all.

A strange 'review. 'Once in the lounge you need to walk quite a way to find the relatively hidden shower rooms which are down the back and through the restaurant. ' They are? I found them straight ahead after the entrance, albeit on the other side of the deck thing in the middle. They say they didn't use the restaurant, but found a few 'scabby cakes' Hmmmm...

Then they left and wondered 'Is that it?'.

The 'Flight Detective' sounds a bit of a plonker.

Those are the showers attached to the private rooms; the other lot are much closer to the entrance (as RooFlyer says, the other side of the pool deck. )
