Qatar Airways is upgrading its PER-DOH route to an A380 from December.

From around 16 January onwards, there are now up to 2x First Class reward seats available per flight to book on this route using Velocity points or a Oneworld currency other than Qantas points.

You might also be able to get onward connections to/from CDG or LHR on the QR A380.

I didn't do an exhaustive search but couldn't see DOH-LHR or LHR-DOH F awards but there are some DOH-PER F days which has the added benefit of getting Al Safwa lounge time!

Alas, they go back to 777 well short of the warmer Euro months.

It looks like the A380 is currently scheduled from 6 December until 25 March 2023, but they may not yet have updated the northern summer schedule. The press release from QR doesn't mention anything about this being only a seasonal/temporary thing.

I would guess that QR will progressively re-schedule DOH-PER with the A380 as time passes, maybe a couple of months at a time, depending on what's going on with their fleet overall. They seem to be juggling their fleet a lot at the moment with frequent equipment changes.

Which might help stagger F award availability!

The fact that there's VA, but not QF, award availability is starting to make it look more and more deliberate.

Not the first time QR have withheld from QF…

The q suites were always fairly rare from PER anyway

Great find Matt! I hope a lot off AFF members are able to use this before it’s gets gutted via the viral feeds. Taking bets on how long before Exec Travla claim they found this without crediting a source.

But only if you sign up for a CC bonus… 😏

Looking at LON-PER with QF points for mid Dec 2023, up until June lots of availibility through Doha, then nothing, then August a lot of direct flights with Qantas. Is it likely flights through Doha are not going to return to QF? I'd rather not chance missing tickets for 4 of us when they come online in December this year which will likely be direct, but is better to be patient and wait a while for Doha ones to appear?

I’d be grabbing what I can. QF flights would be less pts anyway?

There’s a whole thread discussing the shenanigans with QR withholding / delaying release of award seats to QFF (but opening wide up to VFF)….

I don't fully understand your question, but does this help?
I read it as “Privilege Club” and therefore somewhat disconcerting if QR’s own members have issue redeeming?

No, this thread relates to QR and velocity.

Im specifically after reward availability on Qatar's privilege club website. Does the availability of seats on this website differ to other websites ( such as BA's executive club or Velocity ) that allow you to search reward availability for Qatar?

Does that clarify ?
