Excellent find, have flown J with them DOH/PER fantastic service, food good and seat/bed was excellent.

Its a good way to make it anyway even in Y to HKG and go out of there to anywhere as prices from to OZ are ridiculous in J.

Was going to ask this question, is this one of the better/chaeper ways to get to Europe on J? As you have mentioned I don't mind flying J to HKG or even elsewhere in Asia.

Strange, QR sales website quotes HKG-CDG as HKD$14390, however the cheapest I can find an actual routing using QR website is 16922. The taxes don't even line up to be the difference.

Sorry, I failed to notice this from the T&Cs before posting, so the actual fares are more like AUD3050:

"Fares exclude all applicable taxes and surcharges, subject to seat availability and currency exchange."

I had previously purchased ex BKK and the promotional fares then were all inclusive.

I was going to book a fare HKG-FRA last night, priced it up, perfect, but needed to check dates, it's more than doubled now, even though the promo continues. Should I presume these fares had VERY limited seats released?

QR appears to have typo'd the end date of the sale in all the fare rules or they typo'd the promo page. The fare rules say 05 MAR 2016. The promo page however says 15 MAR 2016.

Just did a dummy booking HKG - CDG in September and looks like some promo fares are back, not sure about other destinations.
