QR: virus no fly 2 March

I just checked in at LAX for my QR flight. Was asked if I had been to:

Mainland China
Hong Kong
Northern Italy
Japan
Korea
Iran

Edit: add Singapore

... in the past few weeks. I didn’t answer yes, so I don’t know the consequences but I imagine I would have been denied boarding.

... like the guy in front of me whose Indian visa has a passport number that didn’t match his ( 2 numbers transposed). No flight for you, sir.

All passengers from the following countries if symptomatic (fever, cough, shortness of breath, other respiratory symptoms) will be transferred to the Communicable Disease Center, Hamad Medical Corporation, for further assessment, treatment and admission: China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, Singapore, Iran, Italy, Malaysia, Japan and South Korea.

Iran has the issue for people coming through Bali then into NZ and Australia on Qatar.

It does say they will go to their Hospital for assessment if symptomatic. And I'm often dry and therefore raspy throat after a flight.

I got a bit of sun burn on my face at the temples yesterday, so was ‘sweating’ the possibility of thermal measurement at LAX.

Nah. The virus thing has a pretty low factor here, except as a way to criticise the President.

The only masks I saw at LAX were the JAL check in agents (and a few pax).

My mother will likely have some fun in May then. Was previously booked HKG-DOH-LED for a cruise, but the cruise instituted a 14-day exclusion from HKG so her flights were changed to MNL-DOH-LED and she will be spending the preceding 14 days in Australia before flying up to Manila to start the actual journey.
