Hi all,

I've spent a bit of time on the JQ website but can't seem to establish one way or another...

I'm buying a return MEL-DPS flight. The flight over is in Y, the flight back in J.

On the flight over I add a $70 "Plus Bundle" that provides some SC, checked baggage etc...but does NOT provide for a refund (flight remains non refundable)

Flight back is in J and I had the "Business Max Bundle" which provides SC, checked baggage etc and DOES provide for a refund.

Normally when combining tickets I would expect the airline to apply the LOWEST fare rules to the entire booking. In this instance, both flights are booked on the one ticket...so what happens when I ask for a refund? Do they refund the J but not the Y, or do they apply the lowest fare rule (the Y) and say you're not entitled to a refund?

Anybody been down this road?

Have you tried booking 2 one-ways? With flight ex-DPS one would expect to get close to return airfare if not cheaper and then you have the flexibility you need.

Hi John,

I did look at that. Interestingly enough booking the J flight from DPS-MEL is about $100 AUD more EXPENSIVE at the current conversion rate. I couldn't believe it. Thought for sure it would be cheaper. It's just over 7,000,000 IDR for the DPS-MEL if booked alone. If I book it as part of the MEL-DPS-MEL the return flight is $610.

Not sure of the answer. I would expect the most restrictive rules to apply but plus bundles are different. Try online chat with Jetstar.
