Qantas
Gold
Virgin
Platinum
Apologies for posting, but searching for this needle in the Velocity web site haystack is proving futile (no doubt due to my own technophobia).

I am currently platinum. If I not only fail to requalify but don't even complete the 400 sc's necessary for gold, will I generously be nonetheless gifted gold, or will I be marched back to silver with my tail between my legs? Thanks in advance. This info will help me in timing my future travel plans.

Unless things have changed in the last 2.5yrs you will drop down to Gold if you dont requalify for Platinum.

cheers,

If you are downgraded, it will be to gold
It's laid out in section 7.1 of the T&Cs. Terms and Conditions

If you don’t meet the eligibility criteria for a Status level on your Review Date, you’ll be downgraded to the Status level below your current Status level.

Thanks mate, yet another plus for Virgin then (compared to Qantas)

QF will only drop you 1 rung at a time e.g. P1-WP-SG-PS-NB no different from VA except there is no P1 or lifetime tier in the current VA program.

Strange. I was under the impression that Qantas was in practice the same.
Leaving aside special covid provisions, normal practice for Qantas in my experience was that as a discretionary gesture they would do this (on a case by case basis) for those with long history of loyalyt, but not as a matter of course. My partner and I were both knocked back from gold to red some years ago. Maybe because we had earned almost all our SCs to earn gold in the first place on Cathay Pacific.
