Question about Platinum Seat Selection

Hi All,
Am in the middle of a round the world trip in J, and thanks in large part to the AFF community, I have just ticked over to Platinum status :D:D
The status credits have come through, and my profile is showing as Platinum, however when I check my future bookings on Manage my Booking, I cannot see any better seat availability than I had as Gold.
In particular, I am on QF8 DFW-SYD on 25/2, currently have 4K allocated, but would like to select 3A or 3K for more privacy. Both are showing as blocked (as apposed to occupied) on Expert Flyer. I called Qantas Phone Support, and they said they have allocated 3A for me, however 24 hours later, it is still showing as blocked and my seat as 4K.
Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what I should do next, call Qantas again, give it more time?

front row or 2 of each class are often blocked for CL or P1

Also double check if QF have actually ticked you over to OW Emerald

When I ticked over mid trip I had to get an attendant at BA First lounge to go in the backend to change status.
 
Quick update - called Qantas (again) - no record of previous conversation!
Although it was showing as Platinum on my page, the bookings were only showing as Gold, request made to manually change status, which should take 1-2 hours at most.
Keep my fingers crossed that this works.
 
WP on international flights generally can select from most rows so, unless there's something different about your flight, I would suggest the WP is not reflecting in your booking yet.

I believe there is a sweep done regularly, but I am not certain.

You could try calling and have the QF agent completely re-move your QFF number from the booking, then re-insert it yourself online.
 
Thanks Serfty, that is actually the first thing I did myself, without success. The QF agent also did this, with no change. He has requested a manual change in my profile to reflect WP status. Hopefully should be sorted soon. (I also noted that seat selection on all my upcoming domestic trips was exactly the same as SG, so expected something was amiss.

Had the same issue getting my membership to tick over to WP, had to go through the FF customer care team to get them to update it manually.
Have secured the front row in Y+ on QF 11/12 so looks like that did the trick.
