As the title says.. I'm generally a *A traveller.... so I thought I'd seek some advice...

Likely trip in the future involving returning to Oz from SIN - in C - I have the choice of a QF 747.. or a BA 777..

Recommendations anyone?

Sleeping?

Choice betwixt a narrow horizontal flat bed and a broader nearly horizontal flat bed.

Staying Awake?

The TV on the BA 777 is much smaller than that of the Skybeds (think QF dreamtime)

WOW! That was quick... thanks! I actually wandered off and had a look at Seat Guru (Should have done that first I know! but there is nothing like personal recommendations!) ...

I AM a fan of a totally FLAT bed (main experience there with NZ and AC.. ) Anyone able to compare those with BA's??????

NOT a big IFE user though... more of a book type... So at this stage I would have to be leaning toward the BA flight methinks.....(and embarrasing as it is to admit in this forum.. I haven't ever actually flown on BA metal... might have to attach some small value to collecting a "new airline"... talking myself into it I think!!)

Thanks again...

Are you planning to accrue FF points to a program? If AA then BA does not accrue a status bonus (maybe not an issue if you an infrequent OW flier you probably don't have status).

I find the BA staff to be more consistent and their casual attitude more aligned to my expectations. I always feel when I board a QF aircraft a little apprehensive - just waiting to see if I have one of the QF ogres - not something I worry about when boarding BA.

Having done both flights in J a couple of times i would actually pick QF, but thats a personal preference due to the fact i sleep better on the skybed, but other would say the reverse.
Both are good for service.... Give me BA bacon rolls for breakfast !

BACON ROLLS!!!! Why didnja say so! Decision made!:mrgreen:

Thanks again gents... I'd credit this to my almost-defunct QF (NB) account... may come in handy... better than NOT crediting them somewhere....

Still don't know if it is "on".... We'll see.....

Well they had bacon roles on the BA flights i have been on in J from SIN-SYD (domestic to MEL) anyway :)
But on QF i got a breakfast.... but sometimes you just want the un-healthy option ;) although it was rather lean bacon.

Was the night flight...

I would choose QF.

BA's 777's feel liek a dorm in J. It is a rather large cabing with 2-4-2 seating. you will also have the older business product as only 1 x 777 has it installed currently.

Catering is better on QF also.

Appreciate the input! Of course service/food is always going to be "YMMV"... (I've had good service on US fr'instance!!!!)

That's a given if being realistic I reckon... so the "Hardware" issues like "flatness" of the seat become verra important.... not so fussed by the "dorm" aspect (may change my view after experiencing it o'couse)

I'll check out some cabin view photos as well....;)
