Question RE: Family Transfers

Haven't done a family transfer with VA before so just a few quick questions.

I need to borrow 105,000 points off a family member for a booking on EY which has to be done over the phone. I see the limit is 100k points 4 times a year. Is there anything to stop me doing a 100k transfer and a 5k transfer immediately afterwards?

I also wanted to call and confirm availability over the phone and then transfer to myself right away while I keep the agent waiting. Would the two transfers appear immediately or does it take some time?

My only concern would be the agent today tell me that sometimes EY has "ghost" seats as the system isn't on demand… however I'm hoping that if I look them up using my EY account and see award seats as available, they should actually be there.

the points transfer is instant, so I would hold off on doing the transfer until the ticket is confirmed with EY - the velocity rep can gift you points to make the ticket, then deduct it after you do the transfer so everything balances.

I have encountered this 'ghost' problem with a trip to Paris, they keep showing suites available but then EY won't confirm it when they try to make the booking (across multiple reps, multiple calls)
 
Thanks. That's good to know. I guess worst case I can always just transfer the points back if it all falls over?
 
Are points transfers to family limited to only those eligible to Family Pool? For example, can I transfer my points to my brother who does not live with me?

I can't find the T&C's that define Eligible Family Members in relation to points transfer on the Velocity site.

I transferred a loaner for someone here on AFF who needed a few more to get a better class, those points transferred no problems. Then, later when they could, they returned them to me OK.

Are points transfers to family limited to only those eligible to Family Pool? For example, can I transfer my points to my brother who does not live with me?

I can't find the T&C's that define Eligible Family Members in relation to points transfer on the Velocity site.
 
Be careful with transferring from/to non family members. I have been audited and threatened to have my account closed.
