Hi All

I am planning a OWA trip in J for 2 next year (April/May) Mel/LHR - LHR-CDG CDG-JFK JFK-LAX LAX-HNL - HNL-MEL - 5 stops) I have been playing and put in some dummy dates as the April/May dates not available. When doing the whole trip it shows the return HNL-MEL trip as not available on the 4/4/12 or 11/4/12 but if you do that as a separate one way trip on the Q website it does show availability for 2 people in J. I also joined Expert Flyer and it shows availbility on those 2 dates too. Is there any reason for this and if when my dates are up and I encounter the same problem do I book the last leg as a separate booking ? I guess a call to the FF centre might answer the question too but I am just curious. Also are there any options if a Q flight not available that you have the option to use JS * Class for that leg?....Also a I have now access to to Expert Flyer happy to look up any dates for anyone..thank you :)

The differences in availability may be due to different booking classes. My guess is that there is no availability in D, but there is in J.

With a DONE4, I have in the past got around the HNL problem by going via NRT. Makes it a pretty long trek, though.

With a OWA the Award availability would be looking for U. I would perhaps guess the multicity engine is having trouble picking up the fact that it needs a HNL-SYD-MEL connection to achieve. That said, I tried a dummy (no idea on your original dates), and it did indeed pick up both the 04/04 and 11/04 availability without any issues.

Depending on your original routing chosen for earlier segments, you may be hitting limitations on total number of segments, precluding the booking engine searching for the connection via SYD for the final leg.

Thanks for checking for me, I am sure its less than 16 segments but once I have my final dates and they are available I will try again and if not ring the centre and sort it out Cheers Noreen
