I am flying PER-SYD this afternoon with Virgin. (best fare of the day policy). I am actually a virgin Virgin but this is a QF question. I return tomorrow SYD-PER on the QF evening flight.

I leave too early today (>24 hours) to check-in online for the QF flight tomorrow and am wondering can I use the kiosk when I arrive in SYD tonight to check in for tomorrows flight? (PS I am not taking my laptop and only have carry on)

In my limited knowledge i would say not as its outside the 3hr checkin policy but i don't really know, for me i have never checked in that early my life...

Kiosks only work on the day, I have tried it at midnight for the next day in Melbourne with no luck !

WHAT 3hr checkin policy? This only applies to international, and last time I looked, SYD-PER isn't international (although many Westralians wish it was!)

Maybe he means the 23 hour check in policy (WA only) as opposed to the 24 hour check-in policy of other states..

Thats why its important to proof read the post BEFORE hitting submit!

And yes 23 was what i meant...

Heh that reminds me of when we were buying wine in the Margaret River region and one of the (lovely) winery lasses asked if we would have trouble with customs taking so much wine back to MEL :)

24 hours at this time of year. 23 hours only applies during daylight saving.

So shortly back to be permanently 24.

Methinks Qantas are putting their money on the NO vote romping home - if my local vox pop is any guide, the race has already been run and won.

Well i used the hotel business centre after I checked in about midnight, so able to use online check in.

Strange as all the front section of economy was showing full. On arrival at QF pub i asked for a more forward seat. The front cabin had been blocked (743) rows 20-28. I was advised that it was a light load (over 100 spares) and to try closer to boarding to see if this section had been unblocked - it hadn't.

On board there were about 4 passengers in the front section (WP's?) and the rest scattered throughout. A quick chat to CSM and he advised me as soon as the seat belt light was off I could move. Sound advice and perhaps 6 or so others received the same.

Comfortable flight back with no one in front or behind me and a row of 3 to myself.

Still begs the question though of what time does the quick check kiosk open?
