Is it just me, or is quickcheck really bad for security.

All you need to do is insert your QFF card, credit card or enter the booking reference. Anyone could book under a false name, insert the credit card used, and board the plane.

I am certainly in favour of the visual check against a drivers licence!

Do you show id when you get on a bus or on a train?

There is no check ime against photo id on domestic flights even at normal check in do Quickcheck does not = bad security. FF card does the trick there for example. There is , due to immi requirements, checks of photo id on international services

If you fly virgin, or if you are not a QFF, then they do request photo ID at check-in.

I assumed that QF assumed you were Honest Joe if you show a FF card at check-in, however I used the virgin quick-check recently, entered a number, and got the boarding pass.

Basically using the quick-check, either QF or DJ, saves on fees, or the cost of cancelled tickets, if you need a name change!

Virgins internet check in is even better, you don't even have to show up at the airport if someone else is flying on your ticket (never happens?)

I'm all for quick check for other people; the more people who use it, the less people who might try and grab my exit row seat :)
