Due to poor planning on my behalf I need another 110 DJ SCs on-or-before 18 October to retain DJ Gold, which I'd like to do.

Can anyone suggest the fastest way to earn at least 110 SCs, with the routing starting and ending in MEL - ideally something that can be completed in one afternoon/evening. When I say fastest I mean the lowest overall trip time - I'm short on time at the moment, so happy to pay a premium to get it done fast. Oh, and this will be achieved via the Citibank Price Match Guarantee, so it needs to be a route that QF also offers J on. Enough requirements?? :-)

One obvious option is MEL-BNE-MEL for 120 SCs and ~4.5 hours + turn-around time, but I'm wondering if there might be something quicker out there? MEL-CBR-SYD-MEL (or MEL-SYD-CBR-MEL), if there are flights that connect well enough? Something else?

Thanks!

Does Citibank guarantee cover connections for qantas flights? If so MEL-OOL?

Edit: Only just saw the "18th" of October
probably hard to beat BNE as CBR & SYD lounge facilities aren't as good as BNE, MEL & OOL

IMEL-CFS-SYD-MEL. the Mel flight I think is on a Saturday or Sunday.
I think all CFS flights arrive/depart in afternoon so connection times might be okay. Just with premium SC earn you might have to do it via the GCC as you cant book it online, however I was told by a checkin agent that I could upgrade my BNK-SYD flight to premium when checking in or calling GCC. (BNK &CFS are in the same no premium/business boat), but again lack of lounges

Sorry, what do you mean by "cover connections"? And would MEL-OOL-MEL really be better than BNE? The flight is barely shorter and I'm assuming frequency (and hence potential turn-around times) much worse.

Thanks - and also for the MEL-CFS-SYD-MEL suggestions. Any particular reason you're suggesting a CFS routing, given it's a longer itinerary than MEL-CBR-SYD-MEL?

QF offers MEL-OOL via SYD from the 28th

Just another option, I wouldn't recommend going to CFS. It's a hole ahah.

But I'd just check which had better connection times (OOL or BNE) plus OOL would probably cheaper.

With the 3 sector options there also would be more chance of cancellations/delays vs 2 sectors,

I am somewhat bias to OOL since I use it around once a fortnight and all the staff really seam to go the extra mile for me.

Thanks for the extra info re OOL everyone. The fact it's cheaper is irrelevant as this will be a Citi PMG booking and MEL-OOL and MEL-BNE are the same points cost. I guess I'll just have a look at flight and connection options in BNE and OOL pick whichever is easier.
