Random Platinum Upgrade!

So my girlfriend had companion gold after a few attempts - I don't think strictly speaking she qualified as I earned the required points after upgrading gold to plat, rather than requalifying plat. Anyway - she got that a few months back which was great

In the post today she received a platinum card pack and I just looked on her account and there is a status review showing for earlier in May.

Oddly though she puts all points and SC's into my account. I've earnt enough SC's in 6 months of platinum to requalify myself but pretty sure not enough to get her comp gold up to comp plat? Any ideas how/why she got the bump?

And all those hard core Virgin bum-in-seat supporters who struggle to make Gold are going to be really disappointed with this sort of news.
