It seems the only BA flight from SYD is BA16 at 1630.....

Id like to talk to a real BA person while I'm at the airport 13 Feb... but I'm flying out in the morning....

Am I out of luck?

Almost certainly out of luck. Possibly not a 'real' BA person in a public-facing role at any time - most likely a contractor who probably does other airlines at other times of day.

If you have a TA, they have access to actual airline people and get actual answers :)

Thanks.... as I thought.... lol

I'll psyche myself up for a long phone call...

I'm used to NZ which..as soon as I put in my mship number... pretty much picks up the phone....so I was sorta hoping for a real person...I might try at LAX as I pass through next month.

I'm going to France later in the year for a World Championship pistol shooting comp... the only outbound I could get with my ex-US now AA miles was via LHR with BA... and transiting LON with a firearm is not something any sane person would happily choose to do. There ARE procedures theoretically in place.... it IS allowed (in principle) on payment of fees and meeting various other requirements which I have been able to ensure... (Thank God I'm not even changing Terminals)..BUT I'm not looking forward to it....

The BA people you will speak to at SYD will be QF staff, as they are BAs contractors. 95% of the time though there is an airline representative that is employed by the airline, but sometimes you may rarely see them.

While BA do contract ground-handling to QF, they do have an office in T1. It will most likely staffed in the period before check-in opens and a short period after the flight departs. Usually, airlines do employ one or two local staff as Airport managers, who then manage the ground handling agents. The BA office is on the third level above check-in, very near to the Prayer Room. Follow the signs to the Prayer Room and you shouldn't have too much difficulty finding the room. (Finding someone there may be more of a challenge. Airlines usually post their office hours on the door, and advise how to make contact out of these hours). Sydney airport has recently installed some way-finding info kiosks, so these should help guide you to the office as well. If I remember, I'll see what info I can find when I'm there Monday.

British Airways PLC

and their mailing address is:

Certainly our TA had contact with them in 2013 due to some complex ticketing issues we had.
