If I enter Chile on my UK passport so that I don't have to pay the reciprocity fee on arrival, will they cause problems when I have to fly back to Oz and need to show them my Australian passport (which won't have the fee paid sticker/stamp in it) to prove I can get on the plane home?

I usually only use my UK passport when travelling to Europe, but with the new reciprocity fees in Chile and Argentina, seems like I'll be using it more often.

Thanks!

(been lurking for a while, figured I'd join up)

When leaving SCL to return to Aus. Show your Australian passport to the check in agent then show your UK passport (the one you entered the country on) at passport control.

I've done what you're proposing, to avoid the reciprocity fee, but rather than returning to Australia I continued on to Europe then Asia. I did the entire trip (exept when departing Aus) on my UK passport and did the "passport shuffle" described above on my final flight back to Aus from Osaka.

Welcome to AFF.

Thanks!

I've done the passport shuffle in Europe in the past, but in those cases, it wasn't being done to avoid a financial penalty. Just wasn't sure if Chile looked at it differently because they're basically losing money out of it. Good to know it won't be an issue though :)
