Currently Velocity has $1000 gift card for 110,000 points. Given I just transferred points over from Diners, at a 50% bonus, does this seem like a good deal?

I tend not to redeem for domestic flights as that seems a total waste... I compared pricing on a new camera and an iPod for example and it just seemed that the $1000 Myer gift card was the way to go.

An Ipod 80gb Nano is 47,000 points or you can buy for about $270, and a camera that is about 79,000 points retails for about $550.

So based on this, am I missing anything, or does this gift voucher seem like excellent value?

The $500 voucher is 70,000 and the $100 voucher is 15,000.

Any thoughts??

I guess it all depends on what you want from your credit card or FF points. I don't feel that gift card or cash vouchers are decent value even taking into consideration bonus offers.

In my opinion redeeming points for long haul flights is better value....

It is a bit of a toughie!!! It is one thing earning, but when it comes to burning them its not always so easy to decide....

Placed my order, 28th June. Still has not arrived. Have contacted them and got an email back 2 days later saying it is going to be investigated and will get back to me...

Struth, didn't think a gift voucher would have been too difficult to arrange... This is my first redemption from Velocity, anyone else had issues, or has all been good in the past.

PS - I have noticed that the speed of posting points has improved greatly!
