I had booked a ticket from SYD-CHC and ZQN-SYD via Etihad. The flight from SYD-CHC was on Virgin Metal and I was automatically credited with the SCs and Points. However, this was not the case with the flight from ZQN-SYD. I waited the two weeks and submitted a missing points claim. Today (a month after I submitted the claim) I checked the website and saw that it was denied. I then spoke to Velocity customer service who said that it was an "Etihad issue" as they didn't give SCs or points on codeshare flights with Air NZ. As you can imagine I am a bit disappointed. I also have a few questions:
1) Nowhere on the Virgin or Velocity sites does it say anything to this effect. The impression I was given was that all Etihad flights would earn me SCs and points as long as it was a valid class.
2) Why is it that I was given points for the VA leg and not for NZ leg if codeshare flights didn't receive points?
3) I was told that it was Velocity policy to be contacted about unsuccessful missing points claims, is this not the case?
4) I have a big trip planned later in the year on SQ which should get me up to Velocity gold, I'm now not sure if I will receive the SCs from these flights, is there any way to guarantee that I will?

Check the earning page on the Velocity website. For EY flight numbers points and status credits are only earned if operated by EY or VA. For your upcoming flights I'd suggest referencing the same page.

You are correct. My mistake, I was looking at the status credits earn page which didn't specify.
